On a trip down to London to support the new Memory Joggers website Humphrey decided to pop into the Tower of London to see the Crown Jewels, Ravens, Yeoman Warders (Beefeaters) and oh yes, the Tower itself….

What better way to soak up English history than to spend a day at the Tower of London! It was a great chance to see what the Kings and Queens of England got up to way back when my ancestors were wandering the Sahara Desert…

I joined a tour at the start and I was made to feel at home straight away as the tour told of how elephants and polar bears once lived at the Tower, although I was sorry to hear that there were no camels – I had been the first one !!

It was very interesting looking at all the exhibits and chatting to the people who worked at the Tower, although I can’t understand why everyone kept on looking at me and not the coats of armour or the ravens – has no-one seen a camel walking the streets of London before?! Even the Yeoman Warders weren’t too sure…
